In a more abstract multi-media style Manmadou's work portrays the mountains of Bandiagara, the majesty of a black woman's face, and the power of a crowd of black faces Mamadou's choice of material communicates his love of painting and his need to create from natural matter which connects him to his African roots.

Mamadou has exhibited extensively in several West African countries for 15 years.  Mamadou welcomes visitors at his studio and will have new work ready for the holiday season.
About Mamadou Diakite

Upon arriving at the studio, Mamdou will greet you with a smile as wide and warm as the hills of Bandiagara, a remote city where Mamadou lived, studied and created.  Mamdou is a self taught working in mixed media ranging from sawdust to pieces of Kente cloth. He used sand, wood, calabash, cauries, glue and paint to create naive and colorful scenes of African village life: a woman carrying wood on her head with a baby on her back, a weaver, a drummer.
